Why?

Because race printer.

We spent years modifying 3D printers to produce the parts we needed. Most machines were too small to make useful parts. The larger machines were too slow to iterate designs quickly. Eventually we decided to just build the machine that we always wanted, which became the GZERO Additive 43 Series.

Drawing upon our years of experience in the machine tool industry and passion for motorsport, we set out to design an uncompromising machine. During this process, a variant of the Because Race Car meme became a common saying –

Why SuperVolcano nozzles? Because race printer.

Why 120mm part cooling fans? Because race printer.

Why printing at 10,000 mm/min? Because race printer.

Meet the Team

Michael Parks

Mike’s interest in 3D printing began while working on a co-op rotation at a Cincinnati area machine tool builder. When one of his co-workers brought in a Solidoodle to demonstrate the basic principals behind the company’s first 3D printer project, Mike was instantly hooked. It was not long before he was using custom printed parts in projects at home and selling prints to his University of Cincinnati classmates. After graduating from the UC College of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 2017, Mike worked as an engineer in various aspects of additive manufacturing before co-founding GZERO Additive in late 2021.

Andrew Ditmer

Andrew graduated from The University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Science in 2019 and has several years of experience in manufacturing, prototyping, and tuning with CNC machining centers, 3D printers, and racecars. Andrew's first printer was an Anet A6 and thank goodness it died a long time ago. Machine designer and co-founder of GZERO Additive, LLC.

Thomas SandHandler

Our best performing employee, Tom ensures the shop stays clean and unsecured objects stay toppled. We keep him occupied by moving things around just enough that he becomes disoriented and has to re-map the entire building.
